The department of orthodontics at the University of Connecticut Health Center has long been a leader in training distinguished practitioners and academicians in orthodontics. We are pleased to know that you are interested in learning more about our program, which is among the best programs in the country. Our department offers two academic programs, a combined MDentSc/Certificate program and a combined PhD/Certificate program, both of which emphasize in-depth research and teaching, yet also provides a strong clinical experience. We feel that our training program allows our residents develop the knowledge and skills required to provide the best possible care to their patients through our unique treatment philosophy that involves a patient-centered problem solving approach with an emphasis on clinical biomechanics. Our program not only creates exceptional clinical orthodontists but also scientists who are innovators and leaders in this field.
